Tesamorelin / Ipamorelin Stack

Also known as: Tesamorelin and ipamorelin blend (a retail blend name)

A retail blend of two growth hormone-releasing peptides, tesamorelin and ipamorelin, each studied separately. The combination itself has not been studied in published human trials.

Overview

"Tesamorelin / Ipamorelin" is a marketing name for a product that combines Tesamorelin and Ipamorelin. Tesamorelin is a modified form of growth hormone-releasing hormone, and ipamorelin acts on the ghrelin receptor. The name is not used in the scientific literature.

What the research has looked at

Tesamorelin has randomized trials in adults with HIV-associated abdominal fat, which led to its approval for that use. Ipamorelin has early animal and human studies of growth hormone release. Physiology research has described that pairing a growth hormone-releasing hormone analog with a ghrelin-receptor compound can release more growth hormone than either alone, but that has not been shown for this blend or shown to produce health benefits.

What we do not know

  • We found no published studies that tested these two together, so claims about combined effects are not supported by evidence.
  • Tesamorelin's benefits were shown in a specific population and do not automatically apply to others.
  • Long-term effects of repeated growth hormone stimulation are not established.
  • Blends vary in ratio and quality between sellers.

Regulatory context

Tesamorelin is approved only as a single product for the use described on its page. Ipamorelin is not an approved medicine, and growth hormone-releasing compounds are prohibited in sport.
